Award-winner Ted Draper Jr. is noted as much for his painting as for his jewelry. He is an acknowledged master of several techniques: oil, water color and pastel. His jewelry often contains beautifully colored, fine stones. Ted Jr. is equally adept at traditional techniques and contemporary designs, in both jewelry and painting.
His father is one of the few surviving Code Talkers, whose Navajo language communications were undecipherable by the enemy in the Pacific Theater of WWII. They have been honored by the President for their pivotal role in our eventual victory.
Aside from his art, Ted is very involved with youth athletics on the reservation, as well as promoting Navajo arts and young artists.
