Sheila Antonio

Sheila Antonio is well-known for her tiny beaded figures, and vignettes of historical and contemporary Navajo life. She creates astonishing detail in her small-scale work, and her pieces are uniformly charming.
The artist’s beadwork is included in the original and subsequent versions of “The People Speak: Navajo Folk Art” by Chuck and Jan Rosenak (see attached photo) and also in the “Encyclopedia of American Folk Art” by Gerard C. Wertkin. Her beadwork figures are innovative depictions of everyday Navajo life, past and present.
