Shane Hendren

Shane holds a degree in Museum Management from the Institute of American Indian Arts, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Studio Arts from the University of New Mexico, as well. He is also a bull rider, roper and horse trainer. Oh, and he is an exceptionally talented, award-winning jeweler, too! He has been recognized the national Indian Arts and Crafts Association as Artist of the Year. In addition, he is active in SWAIA, the organization that produces Santa Fe Indian Market, the most prestigious and largest Indian art show in the country.
Back to his jewelry: His designs are contemporary, but his methods are ancient. Among other metal-working skills, he has mastered the ancient Japanese technique of Mokume Gane, or melding of metals. Tufa casting, engraving, stamping – or any other jewelry technique – he can do it all – beautifully.
