Ray Lovato is a name synonymous with excellent craftsmanship and the highest quality materials.
From Santo Domingo Pueblo (Ke-Wa), Ray’s entrance into the world of jewelry began at the tender age of 11, when he started helping his parents make theirs.
Ray is known for his use of a wide variety of stones and a huge range of different turquoise, specializing in natural, untreated turquoise. He makes jaclas and nugget drop earrings, as well as single and multi-strand necklaces, some with tabs or tab pendants. His beads are handmade.
Whether it is one of his more intricate heishi necklaces or his simple slab earrings, you can be sure that they are of the utmost quality.
Here, Ray has shaped a liquid-blue turquoise, reminiscent of the waters in some idyllic tropical bay, into thin, teardrop-shaped slabs. Although we are unsure of the turquoise mine, we think it could be Sleeping Beauty or possibly Kingman. The slabs are thin enough so the weight does not hurt your ears when you wear them, but not so thin that they are too fragile to wear on an every-day basis.
Dangling from a simple, sterling silver french hook, these earrings will dress up any outfit, or can be work with jeans and a t-shirt. Either way, they are gorgeous!
Beautiful, natural turquoise in a comfortable and pleasing design, by a multi-award winning artist, these earrings are sure to please whosoever ears they grace!
