Something special for the traditionalists – a stunning interpretation of the classic, concho-style bolo with spectacular, matching tips, by a recognized, award-winning jeweler. He is highly reputed for using high-quality, natural stones and deep stamping with exceptional clarity and precision. All present and accounted for in this masterful bolo.
Natural Sleeping Beauty turquoise, glowing with its characteristic, radiant blue, is formed into little ovals that frame the sterling silver concho. Slightly convex, the concho is centered with a larger, matching, oval turquoise with a border of little silver beads. Similar minuscule beads separate each of the turquoise ovals at the edge. All around the central stone, is a circle of beautifully stamped eagle feathers, complete with darkened and minutely chiseled tips. A border of tiny stamped designs frames the whole concho.
At the ends of the hand-braided leather cord, spectacular tips match the bolo, and then some. Starting with the complex array of stamp work on a long silver keeper, there is a large, round silver bead, edged at the center with even smaller tiny beads that relate to those in the bolo itself. The grand finale of these elaborate tips is a smaller version of the bolo concho, with the same little turquoise ovals around the edge, separated by tiny silver beads, and a central turquoise, surrounded by eagle feathers. These are smaller, in keeping with the smaller size of the conchos. All the silver is lightly antiqued, in keeping with the old style.
Perfectly proportioned, with glorious natural stones, and superior silver work, this impressive bolo is an improvement on the historic style, executed with greater precision and refinement by a recognized artist. The cord may be shortened, if required by the way.
