Shawn is a Shawnee; her Plains tribe is not noted for jewelry. However, this remarkable jeweler spent her childhood in New Zealand, and all over the world, absorbing many different influences.
So, she brings her own, one-of-a-kind, feminine and eclectic style to her beautiful work.
This ring showcases her hallmark “brushed” silver style.
Shawn has created a thin, satin finish shank, and fashioned a shield of sorts to sit front and center.
The shield contains three tourmaline stones, each a different color. The largest is a conical, purple stone which protrudes from the ring. Next to it is a slightly domed magenta-hued tourmaline which is almost flush with the hand made bezel. Lastly, the golden yellow tourmaline is recessed inside the bezel. The result is a deep and colorful trifecta of tourmaline, which adds interest as well as style to the piece.
Sitting atop all the stones is a small, perfect circle of 18-karat gold, brightly polished…a perfect contrast to the satiny silver.
An out-of-the-box ring by an out-of-the-box artist, this is a fun and fancy piece that is sure to make you smile!
