The name “Chino”, and “Acoma Pueblo”, usually refer to fine pottery, but here is a fine jeweler from Acoma Pueblo, named Tony Chino!
Noted for his extravagantly complex and heavy-gauge silverwork, as well as fantastic stones, this jeweler is a wonderful anomaly.
Occasionally, Tony steps away from his highly detailed style and makes something simple and beautiful, like this handsome pendant!
The pendant is tufa cast with a wonderful, semi-detailed, 3-D ram protruding from the center of the circle, the texture giving it additional depth.
The entire edge around the circular pendant is chiseled, and the generous bail is stamped and high-polished, allowing for use with beads, heishi, or a substantial chain. True to Tony’s wish to leave no surface untouched, he has stamped the back of the pendant as well. To top it off, Tony has added a beautiful Spiny Oyster cabochon in a bezel accentuated with hand-twisted wire around its base – a nice way to finish the piece!
This pendant is designed beautifully and well-fabricated, wearable anytime, and with many different looks, and we know you’ll enjoy it!
