The artist (whose name means “silversmith” in Spanish!) has lined up five beveled squares of brilliant blue Kingman turquoise, which he cut himself.
Since that quantity of super-hard turquoise would be prohibitive in price, nowadays, he stabilized the natural stones by filling the pores with polyurethane, to keep them hard enough to cut into sharp corners.
They comprise a stunning and elegant look, as they march across the open-work silver cuff.
Each gorgeous stone is held in a plain silver bezel, which is framed by a chiseled silver rope, that glitters in the light.
Two bars of flattened, sturdy silver wire hold the stones but give the cuff a lovely, airy look, and great comfort in wearing it.
There is a beautiful contrast between the rich blue of the turquoise and the bright gleam of the silver.
The workmanship is perfect.
Leonard’s wife, Racquel, collaborated with him, and both their initials make up the hallmark of RLH.
