What a beautiful naja design! This traditional pendant on a squash blossom necklace is much more wearable as a pendant alone, and this is a particularly lovely version. The jeweler's name got lost in the shuffle, but he/she is definitely Navajo, and definitely first-rate.The silver is tufa cast, but the piece is finished with such skill that barely a pock-mark is visible on the reverse. On the front, the ends are gracefully formed into a double curve. A natural, oval turquoise hangs from the center, emphasizing the play of curves. The variation in colors in the stone seems to echo the varied shadows and gleams in the shaped naja. notice that the bail is large enough to fit over heishi or small beads. This makes the pendant marvelously versatile.A classic, that looks beautiful right now, and from now on.
