Description
This award-winning jeweler is wife to another award-winning jeweler, Michael Dukepoo, but does her own thing – beautifully, as can be seen. This is a sophisticated bird. Despite the non-natural stripes of red and white, you can almost hear this vibrant parrot squawk! Substantial chunks of fiery, natural red rosarita (a by-product of gold mining) and moonlit white mother of pearl are inlaid in a wonderfully dramatic design.
Unlike Zuni inlay, where the stones are flat and the details are etched into them, this artist has arranged the three-dimensional stones using shapes and sizes to mimic wings and feathers. Delineated by an edging of sterling silver, and with a bright lapis eye, the result is splendid, in design and execution.
The high-quality, natural stones sing with colorful contrast, and they are arranged for maximum effect. Precise workmanship and excellent stone-cutting are combined with a fine sense of artistry, for a brilliant result – in every sense.
Add some tropical drama to your lapel, hat, bag, or even collar – this parrot can hang from a collar at an angle. It will look gorgeous everywhere, and brighten spirits elegantly, all year long.
