This folk artist creates painted carvings of animals, birds, etc. that he sees regularly around his home on the Navajo reservation, and makes them humanoid. His work is avidly collected, for its wry, gentle humor. This handsome fellow is one of a series of ravens he recently brought to us.
Standing tall and relaxed, he sports a turquoise jacla necklace, red jeans, and… blue (suede?) moccasins! His wings are beautifully carved and folded over his back, where only tantalizing bits of his red jeans are visible. His attitude is alert, but not tense. He may be at a pow wow, or just having an afternoon in town, judging by his rather fancy garb.
No cage needed, won’t make a mess, and will not even squawk – the perfect bird to share your home!
