Pottery Fish

An adorable little fish, created totally traditionally, by an established potter and his wife.

Elston’s family is well-known for their pottery, and he has been making pieces since the fourth grade!

Dena is from Santo Domingo Pueblo Ke-Wa, but collaborates with her husband at his Pueblo.

This plump little charmer is hand-coiled of hand-gathered, and mixed local clay, with natural red clay slip, and vegetal, black paint.

Hand-smoothed, and fired in the ground, it is also hand-painted.

With its charmingly rotund form and sweet expression, it would be a fine start to a child’s pottery collection, or a winsome addition to your own.
