Joe Pacheco is a veteran jeweler, highly reputed for wonderful heishi, and cut stone necklaces – a specialty of Santo Domingo Pueblo for centuries.
Here, he has updated his tradition, creating five strands of lustrous, tiny freshwater pearls, accented with brilliant blue lapis beads.
But look carefully, and notice he hasn’t abandoned his heritage: the strands are finished in rows of teensy, brown, baby olive shell heishi disks, gathered into sterling cones.
The look is fresh and happy-looking, as only the classic blue and white combination can be,
Cool and refreshing in the summer; gleaming icily in the winter, this necklace is unexpected, delightful, and very wearable.
The hook and eye clasp is separated by a nice long silver chain, so the length of the necklace can vary from 18 inches to 22 inches.
This is helpful for versatility; shorter, choker length for necklines that need that, and longer, for others.
Additionally helpful are the matching earrings that are included. Wear them together, or separately, it is up to you.
An old style; a new, beautiful look that can go to work, and then on into the night.
