Description
An artist who we worked with once, years ago, Alvin Tyler Begay has kept a low profile, however, his work is very different and has a voice of its own!
This one-of-a-kind pendant features a bear claw within an open design. Generally seen as a sign of protection and sometimes healing, the bear is revered and respected in most Native cultures.
This exacting cutout of a bear claw is the main focus of the piece and is surrounded by an open square of sterling silver. The silver square is hand-textured on the inside walls and inlaid on the left and right of the outside with various types of Natural Turquoise, also used in the spirit of protection.
The pendant is very unique, and though small in size, is a standout piece in any collection.
The idea of protecting oneself is even more apropos at this time, and this piece is a beautiful way to do so!
