Many Native jewelers make handsome pieces that continue their tribal traditions. Not Herbert Begaye!
His work is totally unlike your grandmother’s Navajo jewelry: Elegant, simple, tailored, timeless – and often a mix of gold and silver.
These are the constants of this fine jeweler’s pieces.
A combination of sterling silver, with 14-karat gold, these graduated rectangles are entirely hand made, of course.
The gold edges set off the silver centers, with a sort of shadowbox frame for the silver.
Not plain, and not textured, the silver centers are minutely stamped into tiny diamonds, resulting in a quilted look to the pattern.
The gold borders are left plain so that the slightly convex curve of each rectangle catches the light and the gold gleams brilliantly.
The chain is also handmade, and adjustable, to fit different necklines.
A classic design that is sophisticated, refined, and impeccably fabricated – also, comfortable to wear – and will look chic and wearable, anywhere in the world!
(If you would like matching earrings, they can be ordered to match any size of the rectangles in the necklace.)
