Colt Parker, is a son of noted Navajo Jeweler Lonn Parker, Jr. who brought in this bag, and two others. Most tribes carry cornmeal or some other amulet in a small bag, worn on their person at all times. For the Navajo, the cornmeal is to sprinkle when saying certain prayers or blessings; for the Zuni, it may be a hunting or protective fetish, etc.

With its colorful beadwork strap and iridescent abalone shell and brass bead clasp, this little bag would also be a handsome change purse, holder of credit cards and a lipstick – whatever necessities you need. Tied to a belt, it makes for an unencumbered but stylish outing. All hand made, and one-of-a-kind, too.
