Description
Steven is an up-and-coming artist from Tesuque Pueblo. He is known for his beautiful painted gourds, and he’s one of the few current Native artists to grow and dry his own gourds, a process that can take up to two years!
Steven uses symbolism in his painted pieces related to life and prosperity, with a style ranging from traditional to contemporary, sometimes within a single piece. His gourds range in size and shape, with this specimen over 15″ in diameter!
We hope you appreciate his beautiful work as much as we do as we welcome him to the Gallery!
