This acclaimed and accomplished jeweler is also an internationally famous, multi-award-winning flute maker, performer, and educator in Native American flute traditions!
Tim describes his jewelry as “Contemporary designs from a place of tradition”.
Though not part of his Northern Plains heritage, silver jewelry-making is part of his personal heritage, sparked by watching his grandmother create pieces in her studio.
Dragonfly symbolism can be found within many Native cultures. In most Plains tribes the dragonfly usually represents protection and invincibility, and has even been used to ward off danger and injury.
This beautiful design displays stars of various sizes surrounding a single dragonfly on each earring and two on the pendant. The designs are all stamped and the silver textured, which brings each stamped symbol to the forefront. The earrings are domed and light enough for anyone to wear while still solid and of premium build.
The pendant is in the same vein, both light enough to be comfortable for most, while still substantial enough to have a presence as you wear it around your neck, and as always with Tim’s work, constructed with the utmost care to ensure a high level of quality in his craftsmanship.
The workmanship is fastidious, as one might expect from a musical instrument-maker, and every detail is meaningful and finely executed. The symbolism is apt; in these times especially, when we all need the feeling of protection to surround us as we take on each day.
Wear this dressed up or casually, but however you wear it, love it and enjoy the generational wisdom passed down from Tim’s grandmother and brought to you by a great artist and an even better person!
