Son of well-known silver bead-maker Ruby Haley, and widower of the late, fine jeweler, Natasha Peshlakai, Ben here has combined influences from both women in his life.
Beautifully hand stamped and proportioned silver beads support a long, graceful squash blossom.
The top bead is smaller, and rounder; the bottom one is flatter and larger. Together they make a beautiful foil for the straighter lines of the blossom.
The techniques are solidly traditional, but the pendant has a handsomely modern allure.
Wear it every day, with jeans, sweaters, suits, dresses – whatever. The bail is wide enough (1/4″ diameter ) to slip over heishi, small beads, or a slender collar.
Sleek and easy to wear, this is a winning example of the traditional tweaked into the modern age.
