Impeccable workmanship and design (he was voted Artist of the Year) combine to validate this artist’s many awards and high reputation, here and abroad. This ring exemplifies his talent and skill.
A glowing, large, natural chrysoprase stone dominates the face of this dramatic ring, and is also sandwiched around the top and bottom of the silver rim.
Chrysoprase is green chalcedony, one of a family of stones that have been prized for their luminous quality since antiquity.
This beautifully clear teardrop shape is elegantly slender and tapered, and of an intense and gorgeous apple-jade green.
Like a moonstone, chalcedony seems to have depths that are illuminated from within.
Around the rim, the green inlay is interrupted on either side by tiny rectangles of inlaid lapis, red coral, turquoise and 14-karat gold.
These little accents of color expand the palette, echo the chiseled lines of the hand made silver bezel, and add a touch of sparkle. (Jake is part Zuni, so inlay work is part of his heritage.)
All the stones, large and small, are hand cut and polished, of course.
The display of seemingly effortless skill and artistry continues on the shank of the ring.
The highly polished silver band is deeply stamped and chiseled in a decorative design that repeats the slender oval of the main stone, horizontally this time.
The swags and fans on the shank produce a festive and opulent contrast to the incandescent green simplicity of the chrysoprase, and the geometry of the inlaid accents.
A gorgeous ring, designed and fabricated without fault, by a major jeweler.
Cheer up the winter blahs, coordinate with the tender greens of Spring, celebrate the bright colors of Summer, and complement the tawny colors of Fall – this ring shines in every season – literally.
