Alternating Bead Squash Blossom Necklace
Ben Haley is a fifth-generation silversmith. He is the only son of Ruby Haley, who is famous for her beautiful and seamless silver bead necklaces. He is a very soft-spoken and kind-hearted man who lets his talent speak for itself.
That talent is evident in this beautifully fabricated, long beaded necklace. The Haley family uses very traditional methods for crafting their silver beads. After dapping them (making them curved), they grind the silver beads on a rock and string them on a binder wire. After stringing the beads, they use Borax to clean them and then sand all the edges.
Each bead in this necklace is polished to a mirror finish and is a testament to just how fine a silversmith Ben is. The squash blossoms are perfectly done as well, but what else would you expect from this awesome artist?! Ben teamed up with another talented silversmith on this piece, so the beautifully-made naja is by F.L. Begay, an excellent complement to Ben’s work!
Traditional in execution, but with a modern feel, this necklace goes with everything from jeans and a t-shirt to a cocktail dress.
Crafted by a master, whose lineage alone speaks for itself, and whose talent is undeniable, this is definitely a “must-have”!
