Description
Abraham Peina is a growing talent in the Native art world. A young jeweler, Abe enjoys pushing the boundaries of his art and seeing where his vision can take him.
That is apparent in this wonderfully contemporary cuff set.
Abe has created a stunning, two bracelet set that can be worn three ways: with both bracelets together, or with one cuff or the other.
The first cuff boasts a beautiful piece of natural Kingman turquoise in the center with a handmade bezel. The brightly polished silver of the bezel highlights the bright blue of the stone that is peaking out from the dark blackish-brown matrix.
Abe has used a variety of techniques with this cuff, from overlay to stamping, and accentuating the gleaming silver with a deep oxidization that runs through the “river” on the cuff.
The second cuff is textured using silver dust that has been melted onto the sheet metal that was used to form the cuff. Offset on the textured silver is a natural, Royston turquoise stone, wrapped in a handmade bezel.
This cuff, too, displays a variety of techniques, from the melted silver dust to the stamping, and Abe has cleverly used the oxidization to enhance the texture.
Separately, these cuffs are each gorgeous. Together, they create an amazing statement piece. Extremely wearable and versatile, this is a piece you don’t want to miss out on!
