Mary E. Irene

Mary Irene, is a member of the Muscogee Creek tribe of Oklahoma but lives and works in Santa Fe, NM. Still in her 20’s, she is fairly new to the art of jewelry, but has a background in pottery and fashion design. The sophistication of her designs and the quality of her workmanship belie her youth and relative lack of experience. Her work has a feminine, lyrical feel to it.
She credits Cody Sanderson and Michael Roanhorse, as well as Fritz Casuse – all major award-winners – for helping her learn jewelry-making. Besides advice from these fine teachers, Mary has an extraordinary, innate talent that promises a major career. We are delighted to present her work.
