With a Navajo mother, and a famous Zuni jeweler, Jacob Haloo, as father, this first rate silversmith is self-taught. He learned by watching his father, who encouraged his progress, and was eventually deemed a Master Jeweler.
Jake’s jewelry is timeless, classic and highly sought after, often retaining the Zuni tradition of pictorial inlay, as well as exhibiting Navajo jewelry characteristics. Whatever the style, he has won many important awards.
He has been an Indian Artist of the Year, voted by his peers, and his work has been cited and included in many prestigious reference books.
