Gordon Foley

A third-generation member of a highly regarded Jemez Pueblo family of potters. His grandmother, Marie G. Romero, his mother, Laura Gachupin, his aunt, Maxine Toya, and cousins Camilla and Damian Toya, are all prize-winning potters, whose style – although individually varied – is characterized by a smooth, elegant form and finish. Gordon is particularly noted for his wonderful melon pots, with contemporary, rounded square openings.
