Duane Koinva

Duane is a Hopi jeweler, a younger member of the extensive Koinva family who are known for their fine overlay silver work. This characteristic Hopi style of jewelry was developed in the 1930’s and ’40’s by Fred Kabotie, Bernard Dawahoya, and others. Berna Koinva is a daughter of Bernard Dawayhoya, and Duane, as well as the various other jewelers in the Koinva family, continues to do beautiful, traditional work in this style.
