Dennis Arviso

A Navajo painter of the grand landscapes, and scenes of daily life, on the reservation.
His works are characterized by exquisite attention to detail, crispness of form, sense of space. He generally works in smaller sizes because he is a quadriplegic who must paint with a brush held in his mouth, and therefore can only reach so far in any direction. However, he recently was granted an easel that moves automatically, so he can work on larger canvases.
