Alan E Lasiloo

Alan E. Lasiloo is an innovative contemporary potter from Zuni. He creates figural pots, plates, all sorts of interesting forms, often using a micaceous slip, for the shimmery effect. His “accidental” experiment with the carbon trap technique, produced beautiful, random runnels of subtle coloration on white pottery. His latest pieces have been darker, smoky micaceous work, in abstract, fantastical shapes. Often, he incorporates traditional elements into his strikingly contemporary pots.
Alan has evolved into a major name among the younger generation of potters, regardless of tribal affiliation. He, and his work, have been cited in numerous publications. Alan is also a major award-winner.
