Wright's Indian Art > Folk ArtFolk Art derives as much from necessity as from creativity. In decades (and centuries) past, toys and doo-dads were fashioned from the few materials readily available. The creative, esthetic, and human appeal crossed all cultural boundaries, and today Indian folk art is widely collected, and appreciated worldwide. Folk art may be naive, but is always colorful, and sometimes wickedly observant of human foibles. Whatever the medium, it brings a smile to the heart.
