Wright's Indian Art > Artist: Martha Appleleaf (San Ildefonso Pueblo)

This great-niece of the legendary, revered Maria Martinez continues the family tradition of beautifully polished black- and red-ware. Her genetic pool also includes her uncle, Tse-Pe, and her mother, Carmelita Dunlap. Continuing the talent into the next generation, her son, Eric Fender is also a prize-winning potter.

Collectors love her work, for itself, and for its place in the history of Pueblo pottery.
